Oh dear, four months past...

Well I really am going to have to try and get back in the habit here! Have just set up the "Visitors blog" to collate shared weekends, photos and experiences out here - so will post to there for the people who have been over here.

So I guess I need to sit down now and do July - October, will try and do a post for each month - although not 100% how the memory will serve me to get it all in the right order.

So first up will be July... and the three B's...

Spring 2010

A few shots from around the garden. I am going to start doing some writing as well!!!! Have at least three months to catch up on and loads of pictures and events to catalogue... Oh what joy I hear you cry!!

Parents arrived on Thursday, and since then the weather has gone from 26(80) in the shade (40(104) by the pool) to about 19(66) today - ooh is that an omen of the world cup...

So I do promise to make more effort, and do some regular updates.

Meteorites and clear skys

Spent the hours between 11.oopm and 2.00am in a lounger looking at the sky, took a bunch of pictures and hoped to catch a couple of meteroites from the Perseides.

Once I looked at the pictures this morning and turned up the brightness there were more there than I had seen with the naked eye! I saw about two dozen over the three hours and the sky was so clear it was amazing.

Improvised a tripod by sitting the camera on the table facing up and using the laptop to control it to try and avoid shake, for the horizon shots the same table and a clothes peg as a lens prop gave the right angle to the sky.

Hopefully looking at the pictures full size will show the meteorite trails.

the second picture has one at the top edge just left of centre coming diagonally down

Third picture is of star trails, two minute exposure to see the rotation of the earth.
the others you will just have to hunt the trails!

MONKEY!!!

AT LAST!
With the help of Lily we managed to track down the elusive monkey at the bottom of the garden!

Managed to get a couple of snaps of it as it sat in the tree...

Still unaware we were there, we tried to get around the other side of the copse...

Tricky focusing through the leaves in front of the animal...

AH HA - there it is MONKEY

Seems to be happy, will be putting bananas out to see if it comes back!!!!
