How to fit a super size aircraft through a village

In bits is the answer to the above!
Here are a few pictures of the latest A380 Convoy passing through Levignac on its way to the Final Assembly Line at Airbus, Blagnac.

I was surprised at how many people were there, as they pass through about once a fortnight - and I eventually found the website with the timetables www.igg.fr if you are interested.

Anyway the final couple of photos show how tight the fuselage is to the buildings on either side, and I think other parts of the journey it is even tighter.

What was impressive was the efficiency it passes through, one team up front removes, road signs and bollards (all slot in for the purpose) and the team at the back puts them all back into place.

  3. Thanks Sal, Martin. I think there are some "tighter" places too, I know the next village along has a seriously tight turn in it, I may venture there in the future - probably when warmer and lighter!

  4. Hello,
I found your blog while looking for images of cut-down plane trees. Which sounds entirely plausible as an activity, I hope.
May I take one of your photos of the airbus driving through the street?
I'm in California and blog a little about trees.

  5. Hello Maggie,
No problem to use - if you click on the slideshow top right it will take you to the Picasa Web album, and they are easy to download from there, there may also be some there that didn't make it into the actual blog.
If you dont mind crediting me with the photo and provide a link back to this blog I would be grateful.
I am revamping the blogs I do at present and a page of links to other blogs is one of the things I am adding so would be happy to list your blog there.
I have been to Calif a few times as our business is based in Woodland Hills, LA.
    regards

    Steve

  6. Thank you, Steve. I commented earlier but it doesn't look like my comment stuck. Your photos of the transport of great.
I'm north of LA, in the SF bay area.
